Let’s Chat: Interpersonal Communication for Teens

Have you ever had a simple conversation a friend, parent, or teacher go completely wrong and you have no idea why?  Do you wonder why some people are so easy to talk to and other people it seems impossible to connect with?  Welcome to the world of communication!  Each of us has a particular way we communicate and a set of expectations of how others should communicate.  Interpersonal communication is the cornerstone of relationships. “Let’s Chat: Interpersonal Communication for Teens” is a workshop designed for teens to learn, understand and begin to master interpersonal communication.  We will cover the basics of communication and discuss why it is easy to talk to some people and hard to talk to others.  We will look at communication styles and how those styles affect our ability to communicate with someone.  We will explore our assumptions, biases, and preconceived notions about others and ourselves.  We will help you communicate with any person and make every conversation feel easy. There will be games, videos, discussions, treats, and prizes.

Let’s Chat: Interpersonal Communication for Teens is the cornerstone for the SPHERE Communication Workshop Series, therefore we ask that all participants take this workshop before any others.
